Daryn Cochrane: Building Change from the Ground Up

One of our longest-serving board members, Daryn has played a key role in shaping Movement Park’s growth. He believes that early years sport and play can spark broader social change - from closing the attainment gap and boosting school attendance, to strengthening communities and helping children build confidence and resilience. For Daryn, the board is an opportunity to make a real and lasting difference in communities across the country. His experience ensures that Movement Park is not only growing, but growing with purpose. He's also a keen juggler so that's the entertainment for the next staff party sorted!

Gordon Young: Guiding our Finances

Keeping us right with a steady, practical perspective to how we plan and grow. Gordon has been an integral member of the board for several years. He's on hand to help the Board understand where we are financially, where we’re heading, and what’s needed to get there to make sure we stay on solid ground as we invest in the people, places and ideas that move Movement Park forward.

Al Hindle: Telling the Story

Al’s personal connection to Movement Park comes from seeing the positive impact it has had on his own children. He brings a broadcasting background and a talent for storytelling to the board. “Movement Park has an incredible story to tell,” he says. “When people understand the difference we’re making, they’re more likely to support it.” Inspired by his favourite podcast, High Performance with Jake Humphries, which links directly to confidence, he believes that a well told story can inspire support and encourage engagement which will invite more people into the Movement Park community.

George Kiley: Partnerships and Possibility

George brings strategic thinking and a wealth of experience in building partnerships. He is committed to broadening participation, strengthening networks, and unlocking new avenues of support so that Movement Park can reach its full potential. George's first job was a car-washing business that he started himself so he'll be bringing that entrepreneurial spirit to MP!

Tommy Ekers: Listening to the Community

As Movement Park grows, community engagement becomes ever more important. Tommy is passionate about ensuring the organisation is shaped by the people who use it every day. He also focuses on staff and volunteer development, helping the team build professional skills and confidence. Tommy isn't scared of a challenge, he's a keen climber and has scaled routes in Spain and South Africa so Movement Park staff and volunteers will benefit from his sense of adventure.

Helen Weeks: Inspired by Family and Future Generations

For Helen, the importance of movement is personal. “With two young boys in my household, I see first hand how essential physical literacy and daily activity are for children,” she says. She is excited to help build a national Movement Park brand, expanding Glasgow’s foundations to create a positive impact across Scotland. Helen knows how early experiences can shape you for thr future, her first Saturday job was in a florist and she can still remember the smell of the flower shed in the evening.

Iain Clow: Wellbeing in Action

Iain is focused on wellbeing and mental health through physical activity. An avid gravel and road bike rider, he knows firsthand how fitness supports resilience, confidence, and community connection. On the board, he aims to use his leadership skills to help Movement Park reach bigger, better outcomes for all.

Stephanie McLean: Strengthening Staff and Culture

Having followed Movement Park for several years, Stephanie is inspired by our vision and potential for growth. She is passionate about supporting staff development and fostering a positive, collaborative culture, using her experience to strengthen the team and ensure the organisation continues to thrive. Her favourite book is The Third Perspective by Africa Brooke - showing her commitment to different viewpoints which can only benefit Movement Park.

Gill Wylie: Strategy and Support

Another long term board member, Gill has been instrumental in driving our strategy and supporting Movement Park’s overall vision. After experiencing firsthand the difference our classes make for young people’s physical confidence, she has remained committed to helping the organisation grow ever since. She's even had a go at parkour herself, proving that she’s not afraid to try new challenges!

A Board United by Purpose

Individually, these members bring diverse skills, from governance, storytelling, and partnerships to strategy and community engagement. Collectively, they share a deep commitment to Movement Park’s mission: making movement accessible, building confidence, and strengthening communities.Together, this board is guiding Movement Park into its next chapter, ensuring that growth is matched by purpose, impact, and heart.
