Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a sport in which two or four players hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table using a small bat.
The history of table tennis dates back to Victorian England where it was played by the upper-class as an after-dinner game.
Table tennis can be played at Movement Park on Saturday afternoons.
How to play
Table tennis can be played by two or four people and can be played standing or using a sport wheelchair. The game begins with one person serving to the opposing player or team. Players rally back and forth until one person misses the ball, it does not hit the table, or it bounces twice. Matches are won by the player who wins two out of three games to 21 points. Most ping pong tables are designed so that one side can be lifted up, perpendicular to the table. This allows for people to play alone if they cannot find a partner.
